I'm feeling all the boots
/u/achaiahtak
I now understand the definition of swagger
/u/Dabzilla_710_
Red Wing Mocs, very popular in Japan
/u/wahobely
For good reason. Best boots I own!
/u/Dabzilla_710_
I prefer my Iron Rangers but I do own a nice pair of
orange Mocs because of course
/u/Banned3rdTimesaCharm
Who leaves shoes at a laundromat. I have doubts about
the title
/u/Realistic_Film3218
It's Wantshow Laundromat in the city of Taichung in
Taiwan.

The owners' grandkid put them up to the "fashion show",
the laundromat had been operational since 1951 and
customers are constantly forgetting to pick up their
clothes. The grandkid was a small time inta influencer,
and he dressed up grandpa and grandma for some fun
posts, and it turned into a runaway success. He ended up
turning the store into a brand. Grandma died in 2023 at
the age of 86.
/u/zth25
I guess the shoes are their own. The way they combine
and pose with the clothes is no accident and shows they
got a real fashion sense, and so are probably willing to
spend serious money on fashionable (and matching)
footwear.
/u/scunth
You know that people own shoes right?
/u/Typhon13
Not just any shoes, multiple pairs of Red Wings moc toe
boots... $$$$$
/u/Budskytol
Did you expect them to be just barefoot in the pictures?
/u/Decestor
Hope mods ban this negative user
/u/Content-Fudge489
They actually look good and having fun!

For real. This is a couple that knows how to get the
most out of life.
/u/LunieGloww_
Honestly, that's the coolest part. They turned something
as ordinary as running a laundromat into a fun little
adventure and ended up becoming style icons because of
it. 😄
/u/Brilliant_Quit4307
Honestly, this comment sounds like a bot because you're
pretty much just repeating what the previous comment
said by rephrasing it.

I need to learn how to take photographs, both as a
photographer and a subject. These are excellent.

Whenever I take a picture, even with the latest
technology, it looks like an awkward family photo taken
with a webcam from the early 2000s.
/u/Stompedyourhousewith
the most boring angle to take at is eye level, since
that's the angle everyone sees. get low or get high is a
good starting point. more difficult, not every picture
needs to be evenly lit showing all the detail. you can
use shadows and contrast lighting to give the picture
depth and "emotion"
/u/Republican-Snowflake
This later part is super important. I would like to add
in that, you don't even need the best lenses either, a
lot of the budget friendly lens can add some really nice
character, and in combo with the use of shadows and
lighting, you can get some really amazing photos. Even
on basic kit lenses, a lot of photos have done decent.

Don't get me wrong about lenses, for certain things you
do need really nice glass, like I would not trade my
Sigma 100-400 for anything, but a bigger one with long
reach. The quality of lens is much more noticeable
there. Other wise look at a lot of the photographers
these days, plenty of amazing photos that might not be
the prettiest if you pixel peep, but the character and
everything else is so good.

The next best advice I can give is, that not every
picture is going to be a winner. Not, every idea works,
and that is okay. You just have to play with it, and
take a ton of extra shots. Shooting raw, and then
editing later is much better as well. You don't have to
go super crazy editing like content creators will lead
you to believe. With the right shots you can get by on
very little editing, and still put out amazing pictures.
Affinity is a great editor, and hell of a lot cheaper
than photoshop.
/u/snek-jazz
about 1/3 of this is using the camera, and all cameras
are really good these days, even your phone unless you
are in extreme conditions or need to zoom a lot.

another 1/3 is lighting, they have may used artificial
lighting in at least some of these

the last 1/3 is editing, which can vary from automated
enhancement like a phone will do (which can be good or
bad depending on your taste) to spending hours in
photoshop and/or lightroom
/u/sreyaNotfilc
Just get started! You already know that you want to
improve.

Start by recreating these gems. They have great
staging, framing, and natural posing.

From there, you'll learn enough of the "tricks" to ask
yourself "hmm... what else can I capture?".
/u/Subtlerranean
It was actually their (at the time) 31 year old grandson
who created the account for them, and took the pictures.
He's a photographer.

/u/TheLastPeanut_
Great pics too. I like the one where he's staring
through the dryer window. The off-kilter one was pretty
cool as well.
/u/840960
They even have matching shoes!
/u/Quirkyquark43
Yeah they look so cute! Couple goals for shire.
/u/Odd_Guide_4810
Their aesthetic is really nice too.

/u/ulinglingkaba
Unintentionally iconic
/u/PiperbeingPiper
It all about creativity and style
/u/BrownSugarBare
They have an eye for the looks! It's not just leftovers,
they know what they're doing and do it well!
/u/Modeerf
They have a stylist, who I assume is also the
photographer
/u/SsssnekkkK
Yep, their stylist is their grandson. The grandma passed
away a couple of years ago.
/u/mrvten
Couple of the Year! 🏆
/u/Rasputin2point0
I wish I'm this cool when i grow older
/u/ChanandlerBonggggg
I wish I'm this cool now
/u/bluemuppetman
That's tough when you are a transponster...

But I believe in you go for it!
/u/PrimPygmyPuff
That's not even a word!!
/u/dancingbriefcase
They were probably always this cool.
/u/F1T_13
Dripped way too hard, don't stand too close.
/u/Obvious-Lychee-3336
Love the joy in this
/u/Suitable_Ad6805
Gangster style 😎. They look lit 🔥 as.
/u/an_actual_potato
Her fit in 4 fuckin rocks man
/u/tryanloveoneanother
Nah, they have great fashion sense is the reason they're
icons. There's so many people that could just put on
whatever was left at a dry cleaners and look bad. These
guys have the eye 😚🤌
/u/zenki32
Article in Chinese says their daughter pretty much puts
the outfits together.
/u/os_2342
Daughter has style, these outfits are great!
/u/ShrimpCrackers
Son. Reef is male. And he studied fashion in the USA.
/u/ShrimpCrackers
SON. Their son. He studied fashion in the USA and took
these photos with his DSLR. I helped do original
research on this story.
/u/tryanloveoneanother
Oh awesome, I didn't read the article, thanks!
/u/Rustrobot
Yeah I was gonna say. These are styled and considered
looks. Regardless of where they got the garments. Their
daughter has a great eye, if she isn't' already she
could book work as a stylist.

This is old news from several years ago. The clothes
they're wearing were left there for years, and the
couple thought it wouldn't be right to just dispose of
them, so they began to pose with them, in hope that the
original owners could see their clothes and come back to
claim them.
/u/mr-ifuad
Thanks for informing
/u/zurvivl
Hell, I'd put it in the agreement that they get to wear
the clothes if they're left there for at least 3 months
/u/xdeskfuckit
... the laundromat agreement? You don't sound like
someone who washes their clothes outside of the home
/u/PiccoloAwkward465
tfw I have to find a notary open on a Saturday night so
I can sign the contract and wash the pants I shitted.
/u/The_RI_Swamp_Yankee
I know a guy. You have to pay him in Fireball sleeves,
tho.
/u/zurvivl
Every transaction has an agreement, doesn't have to be
explicit. When you buy food from a grocery store, they
have policy and agreement you agree to by shopping
there.
/u/xdeskfuckit
YOU MUST SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE TO PURCHASE APPLES
/u/yempee
Giving off EEAAO vibes!

".... in another life, I would have really liked just
doing laundry and taxes with you."
/u/YellowcolouredSnow
Haha my thought exactly
/u/CuriOS_26
(This sentence became a meme in my bagel-loving family)
/u/SomethingWetAndMoist
My all time favourite movie, it's so good. I've seen it
like 6 times now and enjoyed it every time.
/u/voiping
For the uninitiated: "Everything Everywhere All at Once"
- 2022 film. Fantastic movie.
/u/iris_rivendell
The lady reminds me a bit of Connie Tucker from Young
Sheldon
/u/dee_007
My first thought too!!!
/u/lofatiger
Is that his grandma?
/u/kevinlc1971
Love this cool ass couple.
/u/myfyp2
The wife passed away in 2023.
/u/Nate_chill
So you're here just to rip the joy from people right
when they feel it.
/u/Aggressive_Noise6426
Right! Like what a whiplash!
/u/MercuryBeach_
This just ruined my day 😞

they opened a laundromat for the free clothes.

I remember these guys going viral back in 2020, and
mentioned in NYT back then.

Unfortunately the lady passed in 2023, so not sure why
it is being karma farmed now, but as a couple they were
definitely relationship goals material.
/u/INFJWafer
Protect this couple at all costs.
/u/rfg22
I think they have their hats swapped in the last
picture.
/u/Kodak4President
Love them. What a fun couple
/u/SaturnSociety
This is rather cool.
/u/LianaVibes
Wholesome and iconic af
/u/PaddyMac831
I love their sense of humor!
/u/James-the-Bond-one
They have a great sense of style!
/u/Icy_Parfait_4066
How funny! These are trend setters. They mixed and
matched well.
/u/Shamrocksf23
Damn stylish. Awesome look.
/u/New-Key4537
Reminds me of that episode of Seinfeld lol
/u/ThoughtGuy79
This is cute stuff!
What a way to have fun together.
/u/headphonehabit
They are the coolest!
/u/Dogesneakers
They left shoes too?
/u/Hot-Job-6281
Okay wtf, they actually are ridiculously photogenic?
/u/dtrin
Grandpa's eyebrows are magnificent - this couple are
cool cats!
