Catching the leaker: Hard

Banning an App: Easy 💀
/u/double0nein
This is Indian government's standard response for
anything.
/u/XxTheLeoxX
Gonna try to ban the internet next time lmao
/u/PikachuStoleMyWife
It's a joke but they actually do that. Any kind of
incident, they lock down internet..
/u/double0nein
They do it so often these days it's not even on the
news.
/u/v1rus2000
It's not on the news because the media have been
indirectly bought the government.
/u/CulturalLaw8072
adani owns media adani owns modi adani owns govt logic
/u/AccNumber77
Indirectly you say? Now that is optimistic
/u/___bridgeburner
Nothing indirect about it, most of the mainstream media
is openly pro bjp
/u/kash1406
Too late buddy, they do this routinely
/u/Turbulent-Loquat3749
Ur just describing Russian government at this point
/u/EihnarsRightNipple
I kinda wish they did that actually. Would at least
cause a proper backlash due to business losing money.
The current solution is smarter since it only blocks
certain resources. It doesn't cause as much backlash AND
it costs a lot of taxpayer's money. Lose lose for avg
russian
/u/BASTAMASTA
Atp im wondering if the government is looking around for
stuff to ban just for the love of the game
/u/CreamPuzzleheaded300
Catching rapist: hard

Blaming the victim: piss easy.
/u/PikachuStoleMyWife
Keeping rapist in prision: impossible

Celebrating the rapist: easy..

happened just last month.
/u/foodog1234
Pikachu the damn rapist
/u/Anas2245
Iraq government did the same thing couple weeks ago
/u/AveryCoooolDude
Oh yeah I remember that incident, I still don't know why
they banned it
/u/Anas2245
I'm not being sarcastic of iraqi government. I'm iraqi
and i just said that being ashamed of them
/u/thirstytrumpet
It's a cultural trait
/u/Wafflebettergrille15
Well idk why they banned telegram though, they already
are using military jets for security right? /s

also not like every single social media app ever can
replace telegram
/u/TetyyakiWith
I wish there was an app with signal level security and
telegram level conveniency and functionality
/u/UrsaUrsuh
Not even mentioning that just banning the app from being
distributed on the app store doesn't mean that 3rd party
telegram clients don't exist there's like three of them
on f-droid store's main repository right now. That's not
even accounting for being able to add more repositories
to the f-droid app store.
/u/AdCreepy3137
Finding the problem Removing the symptom
/u/victoriasparkly
the leaker is on absolute stealth mode. final boss
moments
/u/BadInteresting6125
Treating the symptom instead of fixing the disease.

Breaking news: Exam papers are now leaking on WhatsApp 5
minutes faster
/u/WeeZoo87
But u can track whatsapp
/u/BitBucket404
I thought that shit had 2way encryption?
/u/WeeZoo87
Poor soul trust Zuckerberg
/u/SwagDragon76
It's owned by Zuckerbot my guy, there's no way he's not
harvesting your data to hell
/u/Versatile_Ambivert
That's what big Meta wants you to think.
/u/DoktorMerlin
content is encrypted, but not the knowledge about who
send the content
/u/_YeAhx_
It's 2 way expressway for the govt.
/u/BitBucket404
I vaguely recall something about it's launch
advertisement that it protected your conversions with
encryption and not even the government could access.

...what an ironic lie, I suppose?
/u/_YeAhx_
If the servers are in the country then the govt. can
access it. Anything else doesn't matter no matter what
the companies advertise. There's a reason they came
after VPN companies and every company who didn't wanted
to give the access to govt. left.
/u/EkbatDeSabat
It wasn't a lie. It didn't launch under Meta, it was
acquired by them. Things were changed after.
/u/undeadpickels
Yes, Whatsapp should be unable to read your message. It
can see who you sent it to, approximately how long the
message was, when you sent it, etc.
/u/WantonKerfuffle
Only in 1 to 1 chats. Group chats are not E2E encrypted
/u/Justa_CuriousBoi
Actually yeah. It is much harder to source data out of
whatsapp than telegram
/u/AnakinSkywalkerRocks
Jokerberg and his jokes
/u/TiandiMain
Telegram can also be tracked.
/u/WeeZoo87

avel_Durov

Telegram will now provide some user data to authorities
/u/Specific_Frame8537
They'll start sharing shit through Minecraft Book and
Quill.
/u/Powerpuppy00
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure a
lot of governments have backdoors that are built into it
by Meta
/u/WeeZoo87
Why bother just ask Meta and they will handover
/u/Certain_Tea_

/u/Comfortable-Gas1624
Man the situation is so fedup even if banning the apps
doesn't solve the problem. By that logic you can ban
other apps too idk what is going on by this point.
/u/theancientfool
Let's ban the exam in order to prevent the paper leak.
/u/Turbulent-Loquat3749
There's gonna be 0 exam paper leaks ,if there's gonna be
no exam.
/u/lashaybrins
They're not fixing the leak, they're deleting the pipe.
/u/KaijuEnjoyer54
Plumbers would be salivating at this new tactic.
/u/Conscious-Exit-6132
One way to solve the other not problems
/u/Aggravatin09
Work smarter, not harder.
/u/MrDS18
At this points its just "do something in response"

Work hard or smart doesn't even count
/u/lashaybrins
That's the kind of logic that sounds ridiculous until
you realize it technically works.
/u/Diligent-Ad-4173
Technically effective, morally questionable, and somehow
that makes it even funnier. 😅
/u/LadyWithTattoo
I don't think that will stop any student
/u/lashaybrins
The moment someone says "this will stop students," a
student takes it as a personal challenge.
/u/Diligent-Ad-4173
Yeah at this point most students would just see that as
a speed bump, not a real stop sign.
/u/MrDS18
As an Indian, I can say I am not surprised... instead of
finding the culprits, they just banned an entire app..
thats how you solve a non problem.. as if people dont
communicate with facebook/ instagram/ whatsapp.. etc
/u/Lazy-Main1782
Yeah you guys have some real geniuses up there.
/u/mapronV
Ramanujan was a real one. Vivekananda another famous
person I remember, not sure if I consider him genus tho
/u/Same-Indication-1670
Didn't the people of BJ party also bought leaked paper?
/u/MrDS18
I dont know exactly who, but its not unheard off... rich
spoiled Sons/daughters of powerful Politicians have done
this
/u/GrassLongjumping3901
full app is not banned, some features are disabled.
/u/lashaybrins
The difference between solving a problem and solving the
headlines about a problem is bigger than people think.
/u/rayd0n0van
They were just waiting for a reason. Earlier there were
talks about banning VPN s.
/u/PhysixGuy2025
Then how would I watch porn?
/u/Neither_Recording_65
Buy a 1TB ssd download as much as you can on different
language and different genre before they ban
/u/Neither_Recording_65
🙃get a gurl before you finish watching bruh
/u/Orneyrocks
People whose countries have banned porn.
/u/houssemdza
In my country algeria same thing happens every year,
they stop internet for a week until exams are over.
/u/Slinky_Malingki
Indian government not beating the allegations of how
stupid they are.

Exam paper leaked? Ban one of the biggest messaging
apps in the world! It works for China, right?
/u/urixl
It "works" for Russia too.
/u/Life-Bass-2013
so instead of solving the paper leak, they will not find
the culprit but ban a app.
/u/Versatile_Ambivert
Why would politicians catch one among them?
/u/Life-Bass-2013
this shit so frustrating lmoa
/u/cupidhatesme
Exam paper got leaked. Arrest comedians. Because instead
of studying students watched their videos and wasted
time. So they had to seek illegal ways to pass exam.
/u/lashaybrins
Ah yes, the classic strategy of finding the nearest
unrelated target and declaring the problem solved.
/u/ConsiderationOld7956

.
/u/The_quiteguy
So basically neet which is the biggest and the main exam
for becoming a doctor in india had an exam paper leak.
It was a big leak and tho it was found 6 days after exam
got over they declared the exam to be cancelled. It
cause some students to suicide as well. Now a reneet is
going to happen and since the past paper was leaked on
telegram they are banning it till 22 june. They dont
realise that telegram was just a way of forwarding the
paper the real issue is at the hands of neet guys among
whom someone leaked the paper. The leak can still happen
through other apps.
/u/urixl
Wait what? There were students' suicides?!
/u/BotherPast7531
It's an extremely competitive exam. There's only about
129602 seats in total and over 22.05 lakh write the
exam. Students are under a lot of pressure. They take
drop years (repeat the entire portion over a year). Some
go on to take it for 3-4 years too. And India also has a
reservation system where some seats are allocated to
specific social categories so, the cutoff also varies
according to this.

And parents invest a lot of money for coaching.
Students start preparing from 15-16 years itself. So
that's a lot of years for this. Many parents push their
children into this because it's a symbol of social
status. So that's a lot of pressure and emotional burden
for the students.
/u/GamerPlayzBT
yes. students killed themselves over this because of the
exam pressure
/u/hipratham
Watch 3 idiots movie if you haven't seen it.
/u/VoidExileR
Everyone have to suffer and not a single soul benefits.
Smart
/u/Dr_Axton
The only reason I won't see a news like this in my
country is because the telegram is already "blocked"
thanks to local conglomerate lobbying the ban and
forcing everyone to move to a "better and sovereign
messenger" that people refuse to use
/u/Dr_Axton
Russia. Surprisingly the majority restrictions are done
by the government as an excuse to throw money into local
apps that suck ass. Still people would rather use VPN or
DPI than using something that doesn't work well and has
no content
/u/Hefty_Sandwich_2349
But flextape actually works.
/u/Secret-Suggestion863
I'm so sick of this country
/u/Kvichakvaradona
its just like banning the textbook after bad grades
/u/Agreeable_Catch_4230
mostly china or north korea information can never leak,
its a strong hard access there
/u/ImpulseSpot
https://giphy.com/gifs/ITe3cIvU59ymaj97ia
/u/Spaceguy_27
Ah, the Russia route
/u/Cookie_BHU
The Indian Government is still colonialist in its
architecture and psychology. It vests immense executive
power to control and dominate in a few public
functionaries but lacks the state capacity to deliver
public goods.

Its beauracracy is designed for command and control in
a hostile foreign land being designed for that purpose
by the Brits and continuing largely in that vein.
/u/ChaseWagener
This post is absolutely stupid and incorrect and based
on false info and I demand it be taken down

Because flex tape actually works unlike like this
bullshit
/u/ivanrj7j
Ngl you got me in the first half
/u/Anima_Watcher08
How about they just stop giving the exam papers until
the last minute? The leakers are almost always, can't
leak what you don't have.
/u/AldrintheSensei
How can banning an app temporarily not cause a paper
leak? Are they agreeing that the system is broken and
won't be fixed?
/u/DEXTRO2801
Even if they ban telegram what's the point you can just
share it via whatsapp its like car accidents happen all
the time lets ban roads
/u/az9393
The real reason to do this is because telegram and
WhatsApp give information to US intelligence services
which is then shared with allies.

Just like when a Russian military official texts on
telegram, a Ukrainian military officially gets this
information within the hour and knows of his plans. So
Russia is banning foreign messengers. And a lot of
countries will too. Or already have.
/u/Gloomy_Schedule_7602
Afte exam bolega dekha telegram hi paper leak kar raha
tha, na rahega telegram na hogi exam leak
